Abstract

This statistical report presents data on Sharjah Library for the year 2001 through tables and charts documenting visitor activity and circulation patterns. It examines the distribution of library users by month, gender, nationality, age group, occupation, and visiting hours, providing a quantitative view of the library’s audience and patterns of use throughout the year. The report also covers internal and external circulation statistics by section and subject area, including general knowledge, philosophy, religion, social sciences, languages, pure sciences, applied sciences, arts, literature, history and geography, as well as children’s and story collections. The significance of the report lies in its documentation of library-use indicators in Sharjah at the beginning of the third millennium, offering numerical evidence for studying public library services, measuring user demand, analyzing patron behavior, and supporting collection and service planning.
