Abstract

This editorial introduces the general framework of the issue of Iqra annual, emphasizing the continuity of its cultural mission related to libraries and books as a field rooted in memory, history, heritage, and contemporary development. It highlights the issue’s focus on the Libraries Administration symposium in Sharjah dedicated to the experience of publishing and publications in the United Arab Emirates, including discussion of different publishing experiences, their achievements, and their challenges. The editorial also connects the publication of the issue with the Sharjah International Book Fair, presented as a central cultural occasion that strengthens the role of publishers, publications, and cultural activities.
