Abstract

This article presents Al Sada magazine’s experience in book publishing as an extension of its cultural and creative role beyond its regular journalistic activity. The author explains that the magazine gave special attention to culture from its earliest issues by dedicating a weekly file to writers, artists, and literary questions, before developing this interest into a series of non-periodical cultural books that support Arab creativity. The article reviews several Al Sada publications, including a book on Naguib Mahfouz, a documentary volume on Sultan Al Owais, and works connected to the Al Sada Award for Creative Writers in poetry, short fiction, and the novel, along with other publications documenting Arab literary and poetic experiences. The article also highlights the magazine’s role in encouraging talent, publishing winning texts, and presenting examples of Arab creativity to readers. Its significance lies in documenting a cultural press experience that transformed a magazine into an active contributor to book production, reading promotion, and literary creativity.
