[Cultural Foundation Library: General Statistics for 2006]

Abstract

This entry presents the 2006 statistics of the Cultural Foundation Library/National Library through tables and charts documenting selected service and usage indicators. The data cover activity in the main reading hall, numbers of borrowers, new and renewed memberships, and the circulation of Arabic and foreign-language books. The entry also provides data on users of the National Library by gender, general category such as students, employees, and other groups, educational level, morning and evening use, and distribution across the main hall, Gulf and medical hall, periodicals hall, and children’s hall. A separate table records external circulation in the Children’s Library, including Arabic and foreign-language books borrowed, returned or missing, the number of male and female users, and the total number of children served. These data provide a quantitative basis for assessing the services of the Cultural Foundation Library and measuring patterns of use and circulation during 2006.
