Abstract

This editorial emphasizes the continued publication of the “Iqra” Yearbook as a cultural and knowledge-oriented project that combines annual indicators on publishing activity and library use with attention to changing reading practices and modes of knowledge reception. It highlights Sharjah Library’s commitment to its historical role in promoting reading, supporting knowledge production, and engaging with developments in publishing and cultural communication. The editorial also points to the issue’s thematic focus on the Egyptian book and its role in shaping forms of knowledge reception.
