Abstract
This editorial highlights the continued regular publication of Iqra Yearbook and its presence at the Sharjah International Book Fair as a cultural annual concerned with books, libraries, authors, and readers. It presents the new issue as a continuation of previous volumes while emphasizing a newly expanded statistical study on reading in Sharjah, the Gulf, and the Arab world, based on accurate statistical standards. The editorial also outlines the issue’s major themes, including recent publications, the visual treatment of the contemporary book, the relationship between historical books and multimedia, electronic publishing, and library services for the blind. It further stresses the need to respond to transformations in knowledge, reading, and media, linking these concerns to the Sharjah Central Library project and its cultural and enlightenment role.
