[Kalba Library Statistics for 2008]

Abstract

This item presents illustrated statistics for Kalba Library in 2008 through tables and charts that document library use according to several quantitative indicators. The statistics show visitor distribution by opening-hour periods, as well as monthly data on visitors by sections and subject areas, including general works, philosophy and psychology, religion, social sciences, language, pure sciences, applied sciences, arts, literature, history and geography, reading, reference works, and periodicals. The material also records users by gender, nationality, age group, and occupational category, with students appearing as a major user group. The significance of this statistical record lies in its provision of numerical indicators for measuring demand for Kalba Library, analyzing patterns of use throughout the year, and identifying the main categories of beneficiaries.
