Abstract

This editorial presents the vision of Iqra Yearbook as an annual publication devoted to the world of books and libraries. It highlights the yearbook’s role in following developments in publishing, addressing challenges facing the book industry, and supporting the cultural and intellectual value of reading. The editorial also emphasizes the publication’s concern with library science, preservation technologies, and the circulation of knowledge across disciplines. Issued in conjunction with the Sharjah International Book Fair, the piece situates the yearbook within Sharjah’s broader cultural project and underlines the commitment of the Department of Culture and Information’s Library Administration to sustaining this initiative.
