Abstract

This follow-up article presents the Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre for Gulf Studies as a specialized knowledge institution dedicated to preserving documents, manuscripts, maps, and historical materials related to the history of the Arabian Gulf and the wider region. It outlines the centre’s establishment and mission, emphasizing its role in supporting researchers and scholars through access to rare documentary sources and diverse scholarly collections. The article highlights the centre’s major holdings, including historical documents, old maps, the personal collection of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, historical photographs, coins and numismatic materials, and documentary films. It also shows that the centre is not merely a repository, but an active cultural and research institution that provides access to sources, organizes exhibitions, welcomes students and researchers, and participates in academic events, making it an important hub for Gulf historical memory and a prominent knowledge landmark in Sharjah.
