Abstract
This article examines the mutual relationship between libraries and information networks in light of digital transformations that have reshaped the production, access, and circulation of knowledge. It argues that libraries are no longer institutions confined to printed collections, but are increasingly connected to networked environments that provide access to digital content, support communication with users, and expand the scope of information services. The article discusses the role of social networks and internet-based services in strengthening interaction between libraries and their communities, promoting resources, activities, and services, and responding to users’ needs in electronic environments. It also addresses personalized and interactive services, changing patterns of information seeking, and the characteristics of electronic, digital, and virtual libraries. The article highlights databases, electronic journals, reference support, current awareness, information exchange, and institutional cooperation as key components of networked library work. It concludes that the future of libraries depends on their ability to integrate traditional structures with modern network technologies and to transform their services into flexible systems capable of reaching users wherever they are.
