Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of Sharjah Public Libraries in promoting environmental awareness through a quantitative analysis of event data organized between 2018 and 2024, using Python-based data analysis tools. It identifies trends, distributions, topics, and target groups within these activities. The findings reveal diversity in event types, with a notable focus on children and youth, as well as diversity in environmental topics, especially sustainable agriculture and renewable energy. The study also indicates an increase in environmental events during the COVID-19 pandemic and variation in activity levels among different libraries, while identifying gaps in event content related to waste management and environmental pollution. The study highlights the role of Sharjah Public Libraries in environmental awareness and recommends increasing the number and quality of activities, addressing thematic gaps, and strengthening cooperation with external institutions to support the development of environmental awareness programs in public libraries.
