Abstract

This study aimed to propose a framework for enhancing the role of libraries in achieving social impact in an equitable and sustainable manner through a comprehensive analysis of educational literature, research, and previous studies during the 2024/2025 academic year. The study focused on providing clear practical steps for achieving social impact, developing the competencies, skills, and capabilities of those responsible for ensuring sustained excellence, fostering a sense of social responsibility, achieving comprehensive quality and competitive advantage, and producing, disseminating, applying, and managing knowledge in libraries amid rapid technological developments. What distinguishes this study is its reliance on an analytical approach as a basis for examining previous studies in order to understand the realities, challenges, and opportunities associated with achieving social impact and to develop a long-term future framework that activates the role of libraries in building communication networks and effective partnerships in an equitable and sustainable manner.   The study was based on an in-depth review of previous research findings. Its results indicated that the proposed framework can enable libraries to strengthen their social impact in innovative and effective ways by integrating technology with community activities, providing sustainable educational services, and promoting awareness of environmental sustainability. The framework is expected to have a long-term impact on empowering individuals and communities and enhancing well-being, thereby placing libraries among the leading community institutions contributing to sustainable development.   The study recommends that libraries integrate modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data to improve search and retrieval services. These technologies can also be used to provide innovative library services that facilitate access to information for the local community.
