Abstract

This contribution presents the Juma Al-Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage as a leading cultural, informational, and heritage institution in the United Arab Emirates. Combining institutional description with statistical reporting for the year 2000, the text traces the Centre’s development from a private initiative rooted in Juma Al-Majid’s commitment to books, learning, and cultural preservation into an organized establishment devoted to collecting, preserving, and making available books, manuscripts, documents, and periodicals.
