Abstract

The article addresses writers and media professionals, calling for a higher standard of literary and media writing through a balance between the authenticity of Arabic, stylistic beauty, and clarity of thought. It begins by reconsidering the common claim that Arabs are “a nation of reading that does not read,” arguing that the issue is not reading alone, but also the quality of writing and its ability to attract, engage, and persuade the reader. The article proposes three foundations for refined writing: intellectual persuasion, which respects the reader’s mind and avoids artificial obscurity; scholarly knowledge, which requires wide reading and cultural depth; and practical application, through which daily writing develops talent and transforms experience into style. It also emphasizes the importance of Arabic rhetorical and literary heritage, careful use of dictionaries, sound expression, and resistance to blind imitation, in order to produce writing that combines seriousness, beauty, and cultural effectiveness.
