Abstract

This article introduces Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Thani Library as a cultural and intellectual institution in Qatar that combines the preservation of Islamic and general knowledge resources with access for researchers, readers, and students. It begins by grounding the role of libraries in human memory and Islamic civilization, then presents the library’s establishment, location, and collections. The article shows that the library includes works on the Holy Quran and its sciences, Hadith, jurisprudence, biography, history, language, dictionaries, Islamic studies, periodicals, encyclopedias, and various publications. It also outlines the library’s goals, including spreading religious and cultural awareness, facilitating access to information sources, encouraging reading and research, and serving the community. The article highlights the library’s activities, such as Quran competitions, scientific courses, publications, and cultural meetings, as extensions of its role in building awareness and strengthening Islamic and intellectual values. It concludes that the library functions as a cultural beacon that brings together heritage preservation, researcher support, and the development of public culture in Qatari society.
